What this app is
Siddur Or Zarua is a Traditional-Egalitarian siddur: the weekday and Shabbat services, the blessings, the Hebrew calendar, and the prayer times (zmanim) for wherever you are praying.
It works fully offline and needs no account. An optional free account syncs your yahrzeits and your settings between your own devices, and nothing else.

The app is written and supported by one person, so a reply usually takes a few days rather than a few hours. Every message is read.
If something has gone wrong, it helps to say which screen you were on, what you expected to see instead, your device and its operating-system version, and the app version above.
Before you write
- There are no zmanim, or the times look wrong for where I am.
- Zmanim are calculated from your own location, so the app needs one. Open Settings, then Location, and use either Enable location or Set manually, which offers a short list of cities and a field for exact coordinates. Your location is worked out and kept on your device and is never sent anywhere.
- A reminder did not arrive.
- Every kind of reminder starts switched on, and each can be turned off on its own. On iPhone and Android, open Settings and then Reminders, which also tells you when your device has not granted permission to send notifications; in a browser they arrive as web notifications and are switched on from the account card in Settings. Nothing is delivered between candle lighting and havdalah, so a reminder due inside that window is moved out of it, or left undelivered where it cannot be. On Android, some phones - Samsung’s in particular - put apps you have not opened lately to sleep, which clears their pending reminders until you next open the app; if you rely on a yahrzeit notice and use the siddur rarely, allow this app to keep running in your battery settings.
- My sign-in link did not work.
- A sign-in link can be used once and expires 15 minutes after it is sent, so an old one in your inbox will not open. Ask for a fresh link, and check your spam folder if none arrives.
- I want my data removed.
- Open Settings and use Delete account, which permanently removes your account and everything synced with it. If you cannot sign in, you can ask for it by email instead. Anything held only on your device goes when you uninstall the app or clear this site’s data in your browser.
